Severn Trent Mountain Challenge

Severn Trent WaterAid Mountain Challenge

On Saturday 9th July 2011the Severn Trent WaterAid Mountain Challenge will once again be taking place around the Dark Peak area of Derbyshire. The event has been running for over 16 years, raising vital funds for WaterAid's work in Ethiopia. Last year the event successfully raised £25,000 which could enable over 1600 people access to safe water and sanitation - Just £15 could provide one person with safe drinking water and sanitation for life.

Please find attached a poster for the event which I hope you will be able to display in a prominent position. Additional copies of the poster are available from www.wateraid.org/stmc <http://www.wateraid.org/stmc>

The Challenge is open to all abilities and anyone aged 12 and over for the mini challenge and to anyone over 15 for the main and cycling challenges.  You can choose to walk 10, 20 or 30 miles or cycle 13, 30 or 60 miles - the choice is yours!

A registration fee of £20 per person applies and we ask that all teams raise a minimum of £200, with all funds going to support the vital work of WaterAid in Ethiopia. 1.4 million children die every year from diarrhea caused by unclean water and poor sanitation - 4,000 child deaths a day or one child every 20 seconds.
